Frequently asked questions
1. Why is spiritual covering important?
Spiritual covering is best represented from the OT, whenever the Israelites stayed in the camp they were covered by God’s protection. However, when they departed they were vulnerable to attack. This is even evident in the natural as you look at how animals travel. It is when one strays from the herd that they are weakened before the enemy. Plus, when you align yourself with an organization you align with their anointing and covering for the ministry and are empowered to go further and do things that you cannot in your own power. God extends his grace and gifting those who submit to that leadership. You step into the authority without the work, everything bestowed upon the leader will flow down to you as long as you stay within the boundaries established. Spiritual covering lasts as long as you are in right relationship with the individual or organization. Just as it is with God, when we stay pure before him we are covered, but when we allow sin to break our relationship it will make us prone to attack from the enemy. Bill Johnson says, “Submitting to authority means you may not always be able to do things you’d like to do. But submitted to authority means you will be able to do things you couldn’t do on your own.”
2. Why is there a membership fee? I don’t know if I can afford it?
Your membership fee gives you access to materials, resources, and training that is not available to the public. It is also your commitment to this network and those you serve that you are dedicated to empowering. It is important that those churches who want to start a center be stable, emotionally and spiritually. It is important to ensure longevity for those you will be ministering to that you are invested, trained and secure. If you are unable to join the network at this time due to financial reasons, continue to pray and seek God for his direction and proper timing.
3. What if we need/want more training than what is provided in the Resource Kit?
Our resource kit is designed to be comprehensive in its scope to help you launch you Freedom Center. It is the exact material that was used at Church on the Summit and Bethel Cleveland to open their facilities. However, we understand that some may need more training, which is available for an additional fee. After your director has attended Freedom Training perhaps they also want to shadow the Freedom Center team. If you would like more personalized and individual coaching, you can invite Kim and team to your church. Contact the office at info@freedomcenternetwork.com for more information.
4. If I attend the Freedom Training am I in the network?
While the Freedom Training is extremely valuable in giving you an overview of the ministry, our authority in the spiritual realm and how to cultivate the heart of a warrior it is not an in-depth look at how we do freedom ministry. Network members receive many more hours of training to be prepared to sit with an individual and help them find freedom. For complete information on how to join, please visit our membership page.
5. Is there a renewal cost?
Yes, there will be a renewal fee to stay connected to the Freedom Network and continue to receive material discounts, access to training, ongoing mentorship, and continual listing on the web site.
6. Do I have to have been in ministry for a certain period of time start a Freedom Center?
No, what is most important to us is the quality and stability of the leadership. We are an organization built on relationships and want to affiliate ourselves with like-minded and like-hearted lovers of God with one common goal, which is to help believers live a full abundant life.
7. Why does the director need to attend a Freedom Training in person?
Everything we do is relational. We want to have personal touch and face-to-face interaction with you as you learn key tenets of the ministry and structure of the center, so you can communicate that effectively with your team. If you are unable to attend a training at Bethel Cleveland, you can invite Kim to your facility at an additional cost.
8. Can more than one church partner together to start a Freedom Center?
Yes, we understand that churches may want to work together to provide a solution for their city and share costs. However, there will only be one director and contact for the network. It is up to the churches to determine what their leadership structure will be underneath the director.
9. What if my pastor doesn’t approve of this ministry or me as the director?
In order to be an official Freedom Center you must have a pastor’s recommendation for you as the director and his full approval to start a center. He is the head of your church, he is your local covering. If he doesn’t support this type of ministry, then your application will be denied. It is important to submit to his leadership as pastor, and we honor his decision. We encourage you to continue to pray and seek God for His will and timing.
10. What if my church doesn’t believe in freedom ministry and I know I’m called to it?
In order to begin any ministry in your church it must have full pastoral approval to honor his position as leader of your congregation. If God has called you to freedom ministry pray about timing and direction and wait for His guidance.
11. Does it matter than I have no freedom experience?
Absolutely not! We actually prefer people who have no experience. There are many different streams, styles, thoughts, practices and beliefs about freedom ministry. Many are complementary to our approach and some are not. To be a member of the Freedom Network it is essential that you do ministry with our guidelines and boundaries. So it is easier to train someone brand new to the ministry and therefore easier for them to fully embrace who we are and how we model ministry.
12. I have studied another method to freedom ministry can I incorporate it into the center?
No, we ask that you adhere to our established way of doing ministry. We have found it to be safe, effective and powerful as we minister. That does not mean other methods are wrong or ineffective, but by joining our network you agree to follow our format, style and method. This assures the integrity of our ministry, as anyone who goes to any Freedom Center can be assured of the same approach.
13. How many people do I need on my team to start a Freedom Center?
There are several key roles that must be filled on your freedom team before you can begin, however, one person can fill several of these positions. We suggest you start with approximately 6 people so you have proper prayer coverage, advisors, and warriors. Full details on roles, job descriptions and other positions are available in your FCN resource kit.
14. What if we have never been trained in healing and prophetic ministries?
Prophetic and healing ministries are essential to the functioning of your freedom center. They provide important empowering components to the candidate during and after the freedom ministry. There are many great sources for training available online and in person. Bethel Church also offers other training opportunities. So this is something that can be incorporated into your freedom training.
